Google update recovery for e-commerce sites
In short · updated
A fixed-scope project for stores that lost organic traffic after a Google core or spam update, or received a manual action. We confirm the drop is real, identify which update, pages and patterns are involved, and hand you a prioritized recovery plan with owners. From $3,000.

Who it’s for
A fit if
- Your organic traffic dropped around a confirmed Google update date.
- Search Console shows a manual action.
- You published scaled comparison pages, AI-assisted content or author profiles you can’t fully stand behind.
Not a fit if
- You need a guaranteed recovery date. Recovery depends on Google reprocessing your site; nobody controls that.
- Your drop started with a tracking or migration change. We check for that first, and will tell you if it’s the cause.

How it works
Week 1 · Verify
Is the drop real, and when did it start? Data cleaned before any diagnosis.
Weeks 2–3 · Diagnose
Which update, which templates, which patterns separate winners from losers.
Week 4 · Plan
Ranked recovery plan, walkthrough call and reconsideration draft where needed.
Optional · Follow-up
A check-in after the next update to compare against the plan.
Why it matters now
Google spam updates ran in 2026: June, August and September. The September update finished rolling out on October 8.

enforcement: one single-page exact-match domain was getting 9,000 clicks a day after the update.

How we measure it
We start from Search Console, not GA4: bot traffic is inflating “Direct” in GA4 (Brodie Clark) and Search Console has seen multi-day reporting delays (Glenn Gabe). Changes are compared by template and page group against update dates, so the plan targets patterns rather than individual URLs.
Price
From $3,000Typical range $3,000–$10,000
What moves the price: site size, number of affected templates and categories, whether a manual action is involved, and how much history you have in Search Console.
Draft pricing: starting points, confirmed in a written quote after the mini-audit.
Questions about the google update recovery
How do I know an update caused my drop?
Compare the start of the drop with confirmed update dates in Search Console data, then check whether losses cluster by template or content type. We also rule out tracking changes and bot noise first.
How long does recovery take?
We don’t promise a date. Some fixes show up after Google next reprocesses the site; others wait for a later update. The plan says what to fix, not when Google will respond.
Do you handle manual actions?
Yes. We review the action, identify the affected pages and draft the reconsideration request for you to submit.
Should we delete our AI-generated content?
Not automatically. We review it by quality and usefulness. Pages that add nothing original, or carry made-up author profiles, are the ones at risk.
Does this cover AI Overviews traffic loss too?
Partly. Lost clicks from AI Overviews aren’t a penalty, and no recovery plan reverses them. We separate the two in the diagnosis so you fix the right problem.
