Who it’s for

A fit if

  • You have a Merchant Center feed and organic revenue you can’t afford to lose.
  • You plan to apply for ChatGPT Shopping or Google UCP checkout.
  • Your developers and merchandisers need one ranked list, not a 200-page export.

Not a fit if

  • You want implementation included. The audit diagnoses; your team or our feed retainer does the fixing.
  • Your store hasn’t launched and has no indexed pages yet.

How it works

  1. Week 1 · Access

Robots, CDN rules, sitemaps and indexation. We submit child sitemaps individually for cleaner diagnostics, as Brodie Clark recommends.

  2. Week 2 · Data

Structured data against visible content, then the Merchant Center and ChatGPT feeds field by field.

  3. Week 3 · Baseline

We agree a prompt panel with you, freeze it and run it across four engines.

  4. Week 4 · Plan

Ranked fix list, walkthrough call and a clear recommendation on what, if anything, to do next.

How we measure it

The citation baseline uses the same share-of-citations panel as our AI visibility reporting: a fixed prompt set, run repeatedly per engine, reported as a share with the run count shown. Technical findings are checked against Google’s own list of inputs for AI features: crawl access, text content, internal links, page experience, structured data that matches the page, and current Merchant Center data (Google).

Price

From $2,500Typical range $2,500–$7,500

What moves the price: catalog size and number of feeds, number of storefronts or countries, platform complexity (headless builds, multiple domains) and the size of the prompt panel.

Draft pricing: starting points, confirmed in a written quote after the mini-audit.

Questions about the ai-commerce readiness audit

What is an AI-commerce readiness audit?

A fixed-fee review of whether AI search and shopping agents can crawl, index, understand and buy from your store. It covers technical SEO, structured data, Merchant Center and ChatGPT feeds, UCP/ACP eligibility and a baseline of how often AI engines cite you today.

How is it different from a technical SEO audit?

It includes one, because Google says a page must be indexed and snippet-eligible to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. It adds what a standard audit skips: AI crawler rules at the CDN, product feed completeness, agentic checkout eligibility and a citation baseline.

Do we need special schema or an llms.txt file?

No. Google says there is no special schema and no AI text file needed for its AI features. We check that the structured data you already have is valid and matches what shoppers see on the page.

What access do you need?

Read access to Google Search Console, Merchant Center and GA4, your feed file or URL, and a copy of any CDN or firewall bot rules. No code access is required.

Does the audit include fixes?

No. You get exact, ranked changes your team can ship. If you want us to do the feed work, that is the product feed optimization retainer.
